- 1 cup unsweetened dairy-free milk (or if you prefer, just use regular milk)
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp turmeric (can be optional - but you won’t get that yellow color)
Add all ingredients to a medium-large bowl and combine thoroughly. Let mixture sit for 5-10 minutes until a bit thicker.*Make sure the bread you use is sturdy enough to take the french toast batter, because it’s more liquidy than regular french toast batter* Coat both sides of your bread with the batter, then fry two at a time in 1/2 tablespoon of butter in a frying pan - 2 minutes on the first side and about 1 1/2 minutes on the other side until golden brown. *If you need to, just add a little more butter for the second batch* Serve with maple syrup and a little butter. Or whatever toppings you prefer.
